The Receiving Inspector performs product inspection and audits of quality control programs. They are responsible for performing packaging line and manufacturing inspections, as well as sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials. The Receiving Inspector also ensures raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company standards. The RI may apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated. They may also assess draft and final label copy, using knowledge of labelling regulations.
